About Me

I am a PhD student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, working und993008_10151921792374363_968379867_ner Dr. Robert Richmond at the Kewalo Marine Laboratory on beautiful Oahu, Hawaii. My research interests center around coral-algae interactions and coral reef resilience. My dissertation research, “Differential vulnerability of Hawaiian reef corals to direct contact with macroalgae” utilizes cutting edge proteomic and transcriptomic techniques to investigate the internal, sub-lethal stress sustained by corals in contact with macroalgae before this stress is apparent visually through bleaching, tissue loss, or mortality.
